Fifteen days in Europe's most dynamic, creative, and historically complex city. This isn't a sightseeing tour—it's total immersion in Berlin's vibrant youth culture where you'll learn German by actually using it, explore contemporary history through street art and activism, express yourself through music and creativity, and discover a city that's constantly reinventing itself. You'll live in authentic neighborhoods, navigate public transport like a local, make friends from around the world, and leave understanding why artists, musicians, and free spirits flock to Berlin from everywhere.
You'll speak German. You'll create art. You'll ride bikes through neighbourhoods tourists never see. You'll understand history not from textbooks but from walking where the Wall stood. You'll dance, explore, question, and grow. And you'll leave with friends who get it, German that actually works, and stories that make people say "wait, you did WHAT in Berlin?"
Arrive in Berlin, meet your international cohort at the Prime Youth guesthouse, learn survival German phrases, then explore your neighborhood spätkauf (corner store) and practice buying snacks in German with real cashiers.
Morning German class teaches transport vocabulary and directions, then navigate Berlin's U-Bahn system on a scavenger hunt to landmarks like Brandenburger Tor while practicing asking locals "Entschuldigung, wo ist...?" (Excuse me, where is...?).
Learn Cold War vocabulary (die Mauer, Ost/West, die Freiheit), then explore the Berlin Wall Memorial and East Side Gallery while interviewing guides and describing the art in German.
Master creative vocabulary (colors, feelings, artistic terms), tour Kreuzberg's street art with a local artist, then create your own graffiti piece at a legal wall following German instructions.
Prepare vocabulary for difficult topics with sensitivity, visit the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and museum, then bike through Tiergarten practicing ordering ice cream: "Zwei Kugeln Schokolade, bitte!"
Learn music vocabulary (die Musik, tanzen, der Beat), participate in electronic music or DJ workshop with local youth, visit famous record shops, then experience Berlin's legendary nightlife at an under-18 club event.
Focus on diversity vocabulary and immigration stories, explore Neukölln's Turkish shops and Arabic cafes practicing German with multicultural shopkeepers, then enjoy free afternoon and community dinner cooking together.
Practice buying train tickets in German ("Eine Fahrkarte nach Potsdam, bitte"), visit Sanssouci Palace describing architecture, then return for independent exploration with extended curfew—you've earned Berlin independence.
Experience legendary Berlin Sunday brunch ordering in German, tour alternative culture spots like squats-turned-cultural-centers and Holzmarkt sustainable development, then reflect on favorite places: "Mein Lieblingsort ist..."
Learn opinion vocabulary ("Ich denke, dass..."), have lunch with German university students for real peer conversations, then create video interviews with Berliners about their city—all auf Deutsch.
Study environmental vocabulary (die Nachhaltigkeit, die Umwelt), bicycle tour sustainable projects and help plant at Prinzessinnengarten community garden while chatting with gardeners, then cook dinner together practicing cooking instructions in German.
German class becomes performance workshop learning to express emotions confidently, create short theater pieces about your Berlin experience, then perform for each other (and families via livestream).
Focus on future tense and aspirations ("Ich will...", "Meine Träume sind..."), discuss what Berlin taught you and how you've changed, revisit favorite spots for final photos, then share gratitude at rooftop farewell: "Ich bin dankbar für..."
Receive your German language certificate showing level improvement (A1→A2 or A2→B1), enjoy last group meal at favorite spot, then begin tearful goodbyes writing messages in German: "Du bist toll! Bleib in Kontakt!"
Final breakfast goodbyes for late flights, airport transfers throughout the day, and you head home with German that actually works, friends from around the world, and Berlin forever in your heart.
Participants must currently be 15 years to 18 years old.
